West Plano · 75093
Companionship in West Plano.
For families in 75093 who want a parent's week to hold more than errands and appointments.
Why local matters here
West Plano is beautiful, and it is built around the car.
Wide streets, deep lots, and everything a few minutes away by car rather than a few minutes away on foot. That works perfectly for decades, and then one day the driving gets tiring, or gets handed over, and the whole neighborhood quietly becomes further away than it used to be.
This is where a standing visit does the most work. Not because anyone needs looking after, but because the trip to Arbor Hills, or the pool, or lunch somewhere decent stops happening when it depends on arranging a lift every time.
A West Plano week
What visits here usually look like.
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve
Two hundred acres of prairie, woodland and creek on West Parker Road, with paved trail as well as natural surface. We take the paved loops, agree the turnaround before setting off, and go early enough that shade still means something.
The indoor track at Muehlenbeck
The recreation center on West Parker Road has an indoor track and an indoor pool, which is the honest answer to a Dallas summer. Walking does not have to stop in July, it just has to move inside.
Water, which is easier on stiff joints
Gentle movement in the pool is often the most comfortable exercise of the week, and it is one of the few kinds that feels like a treat rather than a chore.
Lunch somewhere worth getting dressed for
Legacy West is a short drive and pleasant to walk once you are there, with parking and walking distance worked out in advance rather than discovered on arrival.
The house, one shelf at a time
Big West Plano houses hold a lot of history. The garage, the filing, the boxes of photographs. Two hours with company gets further than a month of intending to.
West Plano questions
Local specifics.
Do you serve 75093?
Yes. West Plano is part of our regular service area, and the western side of Plano is compact enough that we can hold a consistent weekly visit rather than a schedule that drifts.
It gets too hot to walk outside for months at a time. What then?
The Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center on West Parker Road has an indoor track and both indoor and outdoor pools, so a walk stays possible through a Texas August. From June to September we usually move movement indoors and save the trails for the cooler part of the morning.
My parent has a large house and the kids are long gone. Can you help with that?
Yes, and it is one of the most common requests here. Sorting a garage, a closet or forty years of photographs is easier with two people and a set afternoon, and it stays their project rather than something done to them.
Is the walking at Arbor Hills realistic for an older adult?
Parts of it, yes. Arbor Hills has paved trail as well as natural surface, so we pick the paved loops, plan a turnaround in advance, and go early. We do not treat a preserve visit as an endurance test.
What other areas do you serve?
Alongside West Plano we serve Dallas with a focus on the park cities, Plano, Coppell and surrounding areas. That includes Highland Park (75205), University Park (75225), Preston Hollow (75229), Turtle Creek and Uptown (75219), West Plano (75093), North Dallas (75248) and Coppell (75019). Availability and travel fit are confirmed personally before anything is scheduled.
